Permanent Magnet (PM) Motors utilize high-coercivity rare-earth permanent magnets embedded in the rotor, eliminating rotor copper losses and rotor slippage. Compared to standard AC induction motors, PM motors exhibit higher power density, smaller frame configurations, and maintain higher efficiency curves across variable speed ranges, making them highly suited for dynamic variable-torque applications controlled by VFDs.
