Unlike standard induction motors designed for continuous speed operations, tension motors are optimized to provide continuous torque at very low speeds, and even at zero speed (stalled torque conditions). They feature high thermal capacity, independent cooling blowers to prevent heat buildup, and magnetic designs optimized to deliver a flat torque-to-speed curve. This ensures consistent winding and unwinding without overheating.
